It is understood that the construction of the museum was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Tinderbox". In the story of the tinder box, after a soldier met a witch, he climbed into a small hole in the treetops, and then entered three mysterious rooms to obtain the tinder box and countless wealth. Kengo Kuma applied the concept of space in the story, from a small world somewhere, suddenly expanded to a larger and more expansive universe, constructed the museum building, and used it together with the Danish architectural firm Cornelius Vöge and MASU Planning With the latest technology and design techniques, it brings Andersen's fairy tale world to real life.

Henrik Lübker, creative director of the Andersen Museum, said, "Andersen's art world gives people such a sense of fantasy, because it has subverted people's understanding of the known world without adding some fancy elements or old-fashioned principles. Imagination, he created a myriad and diverse worldview.” Therefore, the museum also introduced Andersen’s consistent creative context and artistic strategies in the past, constructed gardens, parent-child centers and exhibition areas in the park, and invited other artists to participate in the exhibition , making the ecology in the museum more abundant.

"We want to immerse everyone in the fairy tale world, so the design focus of the museum is not to retell these stories, but to convey the familiar part of the story and inspire people to read further." Odyssey's City museum director orben Grøngaard Jeppesen said. The Hans Christian Andersen Museum is expected to officially open this summer. After the opening, the museum will surely become a local landmark attraction. If you have the opportunity to visit here, it is better to start a fantastic journey with a pure heart.
